Actor Gary Busey, the star of countless movies and television shows, is also a traumatic brain injury survivor. On December 4, 1988 Busey suffered a serious motorcycle accident while riding without a helmet. This accident caused a severe traumatic brain injury which nearly took his life. Through a great deal of hard work and persistence, Busey achieved an effectively full recovery and has used his platform as a star to help advocate for the brain injury community.
